THE BIG MOVE Dec 10, 2011 0:34:38 GMT -5

YES, IT'S HAPPENING.
And in anticipation, we're going to have a "soft" opening while we're waiting on the last minute coding for those of you who do decide to move over with us. By soft opening, I really just mean that it'll be a lot easier for the general public when we open at large to be able to show them what characters we already have on board--canons especially. (You'll notice the Taken Canons list is empty! That's because I'll be filling it in as we get actual links to go in there.)
So what does that mean? It means that, for the next couple of days/week/however long Luckeh decides, pretty much, we'll just be open for the express purpose of transferring applications. This is the paperwork, basically. As we've already stressed, threads will not be coming with us; proboards never closes forums even if they go inactive, so you need not worry about what you have here suddenly vanishing overnight. And bear in mind, there are changes to the factions and the major world events, and even though gameplay over there will begin on New Year's in year 108, it will be a different RPscape than this one. You'll have to take that into account as to how your characters translate.
Before I say anything else, please remember, this is your choice. You are not obligated to move with us by any stretch of the imagination. In fact, if there's enough of a consensus for a split-screen, I'd go so far as to say that option is still on the table. But ultimately, we are moving, and this is our new home to journey into the future.
Now, as I said, this is a soft opening. Which means, there are some ground rules as you get ready to register and copypasta and whatnot.
1. Please only register actual character accounts. For example, my Katara account is registered, but my Sable account is not. (Pug is the exception since she runs the joint.) At this time, please do not make OOC accounts. We want all profiles posted by the actual roleplay account. And bear in mind, this also means that as you register, you have to register as your character's name. There's no such thing as a "Display Name" on jcink as there is here on proboards. What you register is what you see, period. Admins can change it, though, so if you make a mistake, don't sweat it.
2. Post in the "Finished" forum, which can be found in the "Application Drop-Box." Yes, I realize you may want to piece things together over time, and that's fine. Just slap a WIP in the title if that's the case. But since I'm OCD, I want all the profiles on board when the place opens up to, hopefully, be free of any extra posts and clutter, with just the profile itself, then the single stamp of approval before it's shipped off. The nice thing about jcink is that you can opt out of the annoying "This post has been edited by _______" line, yay.
3. There is still no application template, and I don't think we'll ever have one. It's a free-for-all. Another perk of using jcink? It allows html by using the [dohtml] tag. In other words, you can really format these things to be pretty and image heavy and colorful if you really want. Whatever you feel like, the sky's the limit. Or you can keep on the same level as the ones we have here, that's okay, too. Just a heads-up, the BBC coding is virtually the same except for one thing: alignment. While it's just [ center ] here on proboards, it would be on jcink. Also, the font size is automatically the equivalent of 0, so if you use the [ size=1 ] tag thinking it'll make it smaller, guess again, ha.
4. When your app's done, just leave it there. I'll sort through them as seen fit. Notice, we don't have a "Dawn" anymore. At start of play, the gAang is scattered and the world is united in Republic City more than around the Avatar himself. That doesn't mean there are no good guys, but we just don't think it constitutes a "faction" anymore. The Jade Shark and the Flame are on board, but they've been rewritten. Please read them carefully.
Again, if for any reason, you don't want to rewrite your character or join us on jcink, there are no hard feelings, you're free to decline. And, like I said, if enough of you ultimately decide you want to stay here in this -verse playing in this sandbox, we won't stop you. If we don't hear that's the case, however, expect this board to be kept intact and accessible to those of you currently here, but closed up.
Any questions at all, please feel free to PM me, or better yet, IM me at Gossamerfancies on AIM. Remember, this is really just the clerical side of things; there's still more to fill in and on that note, I'll even ask that if you have ideas to include on the "Open Canons" list, pleeeeease tell me so I can put them on there! Oh, and I've included a quick and dirty timeline at the end of this post, too, for reference. I hope to see you all over there!
