How are you doing? We haven't talked in a while. As for me, I'm fine! Nothing much new is going on, really... things are preeeeetty quiet, yuuuuup...
Oh except for you know nothing special just SUKI GAVE BIRTH!!!!!!!!
MASTER I'M A FATHER! I'M A DAD!!!!
SHE HAD TWO!!!!!!
It's a boy, Kaito, and a girl we named after my mother... Kya. They're both happy, and healthy, and beautiful. Suki is tired but she's wonderful, too.
I'm absolutely terrified, Master, but... I'm really, really happy. I didn't think I could ever be so lucky.
Just the thought of actually... being responsible for their lives for the rest of my life is kind of scary, you know? I've already almost dropped Kaito. Don't tell Suki.
Anyways, I was wondering - is next week too soon for them to start lessons with you? I mean, you're not busy, are you? Although I'm sure any students you have currently can't match up to my example and you need to log lots of extra time with them, you can fit two more in, right?
Haha, just kidding! I'm sure your students are good enough that you have plenty of time to teach my kids immediately.
First and foremost, my most heartfelt congratulations to you and to Suki. I assume, based on my limited understanding of parenthood, that twins will be a handful, but I suspect it is nothing less than you deserve. Kaito and Kya are lucky to have such fine parents, and I am confident that they will be equally fine adults someday. They cannot fail to inherit some of their parents' most excellent qualities, and I look forward to hearing about them.
You are welcome to return to Shu Jing whenever it is most expedient for you to do so. I have no students at the present and have in fact been rather more selective of late, but I think I could perhaps endeavor to make time for you somewhere in my life of leisure. At the very least, I am sure I have time to once again cover the fundamentals of painting with you, a topic that I know you hold dear.
Consider this your invitation to visit whenever you are most able. I know that your new responsibilities will be pressing, and I am sure that I can help you accomodate your studies to them. Once again, send my regards to Suki.
…Master. After reading this letter? I'm concerned. Very, very concerned.
I mean, really, I gotta ask… Have you gone soft in your old age?!
Awww, you and Gran-Pakku are like two peas in a pod now! ('Cause you do know you're pretty much these kids' honorary other grandfather, right? Ol' Gran-Pian! …I'll think of a better nickname than that.)
Seriously, though, Master, thanks a ton! We'd love to come visit you whenever we get the chance, and especially for the twins and me to get a jump start on their studies. Maybe we could even come visit before the year is up!
…Maybe not. …I'll talk to Suki - and I'll definitely pass along what you said. I bet she won't be able to say no!
