Because the girls need a thread together and bbs are adorable.
"Suki, Suki! I'm coming in, are you here?" Yumi poked her head around the door she was pushing open. There hadn't been much interaction between the two since the twins had been born, but that didn't mean she was just going to quit paying attention to her friend. In fact, it was about time that she sat down and talked to Suki about things in general. And now that Ty was there, she figured having a little get together between the three of them was an alright idea, right?
That was why she had left Ty Lee a note in hopes that the girl would actually come. They hadn't had a huge blowout fight, but that didn't mean they were always keen on each other. But for Suki, they could pull something together right. "Suki?" She slid open a door, but it was just an empty room. "She's probably with Sokka, I swear those two..." Yumi hummed to herself as she slid the door back shut.
Well, she would just find the twins then. They wouldn't wander off on her. Hopefully.
Her fingers curled around the handle of a door, deciding that this had to be the right one. She wasn't exactly sure but... She pulled the door open and smiled when she discovered that is was the nursery. "Well, there you two are!" Yumi stepped in and then slid the door close. Suki wasn't here either. Oh well. She knelt near the crib. "Hi," she said quietly and the baby girl turned her eyes her way. "You must be Kya." Yumi drifted her eyes to the baby boy. "And Kaito, well, you two are just adorable!"
Well, she hadn't been expecting a note on the bed when she got back from her morning workout. Especially not one that seemed so strictly business as that. An 'I'm Sorry, come back and stay with me?' note? Maybe.
Now that she thought about it though, it was probably some sort of meeting. Maybe Suki wanted to talk Captain to Vice Captain to Acrobat about a more long-term solution for the Warriors. Hakoda wasn't going to be the Chief of the Southern Water Tribe forever. Sooner or later, he'd want to step down, and have Sokka step up. That would probably mean that Suki would step down as Captain.
Changing quickly, all the wile holding an apple pear in her mouth that she fully intended to eat as soon as she was done, she had trotted off in the direction of the Captain's place. Luckily it wasn't far, so she wouldn't have to worry about keeping everyone waiting.
"Captain?" She called, rapping softly on the door. She didn't want to be the one to wake up a set of twins from their nap. "Yumi?" Suki would probably make her drop and do push ups, especially if she hadn't been sleeping much, as Ty Lee heard new mothers tended not to. Babies didn't know about day and night; they woke up and cried at all hours without discrimination.
Movement and voices from around back caught her attention, and she- feeling a little guilty trespassing, trotted around the side of the building. Maybe they were waiting in the back? As it turned out though, Yumi's voice was floating out one of the open windows. The nursery window to be exact.
"Hmm, some meeting." She rolled her eyes, taking another bite of her apple and leaning her elbows on the frame. "Is Suki here?"

The house had finally been quiet. Between the twins and Sokka, the last few days had been nothing buy noise. Yes her husband did help but she preferred to do things her way. Not to mention all the family that had been in and out and were still about the island. No this moment was finally hers. The past half an hour had been more or less silent for two reasons. The twins had both fallen asleep at the same time and Sokka was out of the house for the moment. Suki decided to get what little rest that she could.
She hadn't heard Yumi's entrance at all. Well she kind of did but it seemed like part of a area and ignored it for the moment. If it was something urgent or anything else then they'd come find her. For some strange reason it was the soft knocking from Ty Lee that woke her up. She heard voices, familiar voices. Coming from the nursery it would seem. Yumi as well?
Suki got up, already dressed since she had only been taking a light nap. Quickly she made her way to the room where the twins were and her two friends. "Yumi, sorry I was in the other room." Wasn't going to mention the fact she'd just woken up. Ty Lee seemed to be standing outside and she motioned to her. "Ty Lee, why don't you come inside?" She was too tired to boss anyone around right now. Kya seemed to be awake but thank Kyoshi she wasn't crying, Suki picked up the girl as they waited for Ty Lee to come inside. "Wanted to come meet them properly?"
Yumi was tempted to pick up the baby girl, but she wasn't sure if that was okay. Suki loved her, yes, but they were newborns and some mothers were protective. Instead, she dangled her finger in front of Kya. The little girl grabbed for it and then held onto it. A soft smile took up her lips. "Cuuuuute," she hummed at the newborn, who made a few bubbles at her in response.
She let out a little 'eek!', almost falling back but grabbing hold of the crib. "Gosh, Ty, don't do that," she stuck out her tongue at the other girl. "You know I'm frightened easily!" Which was a lie, but that was besides the point. Ty Lee knew that and would probably, hopefully get the joke. "And anway," she gestured at the twins. "This is just as important, don't you think?" A giggle pressed against her lips. "I'm not sure," Yumi hummed. "But probably. Are you going to come in?"
She jumped up as Suki came into the room. "Oh! Good, I would feel bad if I was in your house if you weren't here," Yumi said, even though she had come in here without making sure the mother was there. She glanced back at Ty Lee. "I tried to tell her to come in! She never listens to me," she grumbled before smiling.
"Of course! Babies are my second favorite thing," she made a silly face at Kya. "And these two are so DARK."
Reaching up, Ty Lee grabbed the wooden frame of the window, then in one smooth move, vaulted herself through feet first. "Captain Suki never made you do a hundred burpees for sticking your nose where she didn't want it." Worst. Day. Ever. Well... definitely top ten.
Staying back from Yumi, Ty Lee inspected the little creatures for herself. "Oooh, she's going to be a strong Kyoshi Warrior someday." Ty Lee was fond of babies, though not quite as gooey over them as Yumi got. Babies were always a mixed blessing growing up. For her it meant more competition for her parents already lax attention, but at the same time, another sister to play with!
Reaching down, she stroked one tiny, dark baby hand. "You better keep an eye on them, Captain. I think Yumi is about to steal one." Spirits only knew how else the Warrior would ever become a mother. She wasn't exactly keen on boys... then again, everyone could be seduced into trying something new.
Grinning at her Captain, she walked over to her and threw an affectionate arm around her shoulder. "How are you feeling?" Yumi was still getting a bit of the cold shoulder, so to speak, after their little spat... Was it just her or was there more fighting than ever now?

Suki chuckled. "Of course I'd be here if the twins were here, can't leave them alone for quite some time." And who knew where her husband was. She wasn't to into the idea of leaving the twins alone with him yet anyway. Okay, she did trust him but well, she wanted everything to run smoothly.
Kya giggled at the silly face Yumi made. "Just like their father. They say babies can change, hair and what not you know, but I think they'll always be this dark." Speaking of hair, they did seem to have lighter hair than Sokka but she didn't know if they wanted to get into lots of baby talk.
"Yumi, you want to hold Kya so I can pickup Kaito?" She gently offered the baby to the other girl. Then she went and picked Kaito up so he could join the fun.
She grinned. "At least I'll know where to look if they do go missing." Suki just chuckled again and held the little boy to her.
She hugged Ty Lee back with one arm. "Tired, very tired. Which I know I'll be feeling for quite some time. And wanting to get back to work, who knows when that will happen." Sokka would try to keep her from that for a while but Suki wanted to get back into shape.
Yumi smirked for a moment before glancing away. They weren't going to be on good terms for a while, she could already tell. "No, because I didn't stick my nose where it was unwanted!" Normally an affectionate wink would have been put in the acrobat's direction but she refrained by continuing to smile at Kya. "I figured as much," she hummed. "Something tells me I'll just have to follow the trail of crying babies to find you."
"Yeah? Well, they're adorable like this! It's not hard to believe you and Sokka made such beautiful children," she smiled softly at the giggle produced by Kya. She watched Ty Lee for a moment before nodding with the statement. "Of couse she will, look at her parents!"
"Oooh, yes!" She excitedly received Kya, cradling the little girl perfectly. "And I am not! There are plenty of other babies to steal. I won't take the Captain's," she blew a little kiss at Kya. "I swear, you two.." Yumi made faces at both of them and then turned back to Kya.
The cold shoulder hurt, but she was at least distracted enough by Kya to not feel its impact too much. "Huh, your parents just are perfect for each other," she smiled again and then looked up. "I'll keep him distracted for you if you want to train the new girls."
She almost caught Ty Lee's eye but watched Kaito instead. Fighting, fighting, fighting... but they would be civil for Suki.
"Yeah, I bet their eyes'll stay blue though." Ty Lee replied, arms folded back behind her neck, looking relaxed. That would quickly dissolve into the whine of "Aw, not fair! I wanna hold one!" They were just so squishy and adorable looking! Hands would be clasped pleadingly at her Captain, a silent begging for her to hand the infant boy over.
"You better get all the sleep you can now too!" Ty Lee would add teasingly. "Once Katara and I are gone? You'll be down several able bodied babysitters. Is Gran Gran staying for a while at least?" On the up side? Free babysitting. On the downside? That strange looking sea-soup that the woman seemed to try to feed everyone she met. 'It cures anything!' or 'It's wholesome and nourishing!'. Ty Lee thought it tasted like overcooked, chewy ocean cumquats herself.
"I disagree." Ty Lee would bounce on the balls of her feet a little, whether or not the baby had been handed over. She was just a bouncy sort of person. "You can't expect to fight well when you can't sleep through the night; when every few hours you need to nurse your babies. It's too much, even for you!" Plus? Ty Lee wasn't too informed about the whole 'birth' thing, but two babies, each with Sokka's skull? That could not be easy to bounce back from.
Fighting or not, she gave Yumi a frown. The other girl should know better than to tease their practically house-arrested-by-baby Captain. "Promise me you'll take it easy, Captain?" Suki knew just as well as any warrior or athlete that if you rushed healing, you'd only end up injuring yourself worse.
Suki chuckled. "Of course we did. I know these two are twins but they are going to look so much a like I think." Yes twins but they were boy and girl twins which meant they could look completely different. They were both so dark though with that similar hair and everything. "They'll both be strong too, I can tell." Both sides of the family were good looking and talented. Kyoshi warriors on one side, Master Waterbender and seasoned warriors on the other.
"Like I said, I'll know where to look if they go missing." Yumi's place or the dojo. Suki held Kaito to her now that Kya was being held by Yumi. "I'd appreciate that. Still a few weeks until I think I could go back." She wanted to get into shape by herself first. Would be an embarrassment to go back out of shape.
She nodded. "Both sides of the families are blue, maybe some green in mine a few places." But they did look very blue right now. A chuckled escaped her lips. At least she didn't have to hold them both all the time. She handed Kaito to Ty Lee. "Alright, here."
"Oh I know, I can count the sleep I've gotten so far on one hand." Not good and not all at once either. "Thank Kyoshi yes, GranGran is staying here for a bit I think." If not she'd be begging the older woman too. She still had to teach her how to knit.
Suki sighed. "Oh all right, I'll wait a bit longer to get back to training." The girls at least. Still needed a bit of time for herself. It would help to get more sleep anyway. "I will, of course you know that."
"Well, they're twins," and then she hoisted Kya up in the air to get a better look at her from where she was, studying the blue eyes. She trained her eyes on Kaito for a moment, before going back and forth to compare. "Yeah, they have a little difference, but I think it'll be hard to tell them apart if you don't make a big difference between them." She smiled as she set Kya back comfortable into her arms. "She's so tiny though! They both are such tiny things," but then babies were...
"Of course, but I swear I won't take them unless you or Sokka say it's okay!" She pushed a stray hair of Kya's away, the soft hair strange under her fingers. Baby hair was so strange and new and soft.
"Oh, they would be cuter with green eyes!" Eyes down here were usually brown or blue, rarely green on the island because that trait had disappeared after a few years of drifting in a gene pool that wasn't right for it. "You need some serious babysitters if you can count the sleep you've had on your hand! I don't wanna catch you there in the next weeks until you and these kids have a good sleeping schedule!" Yumi's scolding side broke out. She made a slight face at the mention of GranGran. Though the warrior had never met her? Stories of her soup were enough.
She watched Kaito be passed over and Kya made a gurgling sound at her brother being transfered into different arms. "Looks like they have a strong connection already, haha," Yumi shifted her arms so that Kya could stare at her twin.
"Hey handsome!" Ty Lee cooed as she played with her new burden. He was awfully adorable. "I bet he'll grow up to be just as charming as his father." She brushed her fingers through dark baby hair. Would it be wiry like his father's or smooth like his mothers?
"Gosh, you sure that you don't want to go and take a nap right now, Captain?" Ty Lee teased as the bundle in her arms squeezed an outstretched finger. "We'll take good care of them." Was hastily promised. She'd had enough sisters to know the ins and out of baby maintenance.
Because she wasn't much for standing still, Ty Lee began to bounce Kaito in a small circle, dancing him around. "I don't know, you think they're going to have that twin thing?" Kaito wasn't old enough to be able to see much further than two feet, so when his sister left his field of vision, he stared up at her. She made a silly face, and he pulled his dark lips back into a clumsy smile.
"Don't worry, you'll be back in the dojo before you know." She turned and grinned at Suki. "Just be ready for some serious catch-up-training!" It only took two weeks to start losing your edge, Ty Lee knew that for a fact. She'd done her own fair share of recovering lately.
"At least them being different genders will help tell them apart." For obvious reasons and of course as they develop more features. Suki grind a bit. "They'll get bigger quick. At the rate they are eating..." Of course they were related to Sokka.
She chuckled. "I think I have all the babysitters I can count on." The bit of family staying would help. All of the Kyoshi warriors were up to the task as well. That was an army of babysitters in itself. Suki sighed. "Alright, I'll get adjusted them I'm coming back. Can't keep my out too long."
"Hope he does Ty Lee. These two are fortunate to have good genes on both sides. I do wonder if either will bend." There were some relatives of hers that did bend and it was obvious there was bending in Sokka's family. Was it likely these two could bend? Did she want them too?
"I don't need any sleep right now, just got up from a nap." Not a very long one but still a nap. "Twin thing. You think so?"
