Unless you're lying about your age on signups, we trust you either are or are over thirteen years old and know how to handle your situations in a mature manner. If something someone is doing happens to bother you for whatever reason, ask them kindly to stop. What you should not do is get into an argument and spam a board with obscenities. We would like to maintain a friendly and content atmosphere around the forums so if you absolutely must talk/argue with someone, we prefer that you take it to the PM system.

If this method of coping is taken, do keep in mind that the moderators are not responsible for your or their actions and may not waste their time depending on the severity of the situation. What we do not encourage, are private arguments sent to Security Moderators in fractions and having to play judge and jury and end up banning two people for one petty little thing. If you wish to settle your argument privately, then do so - Security Moderators or Administrators will not intervene.

In the event that serious threats are made (death, stalking, hacking etc.) please do not hesitate to contact a moderator. Threats, depending on how bad they are, are a bannable offense. We will not condone any threat on someone's life nor bank account or anything of that nature.

Arguing is like a rotten tooth, kids... It only hurts when you're chewin' on something sweet. Don't like the pain? Don't chew it.

(Note that this DOES NOT apply to friendly/heated debate. Mods will only get involved if they feel the situation is getting vulgar - we're here to mediate, not kiss your boo-boo's if you end up getting butt-hurt over something silly.)

Art thievery or plagiarism will not be tolerated. Any art you use must be done by yourself or given to you with permission from a different person. If it is found out that you have taken art without the consent of the respective artist, you will be asked immediately to take it down. If you do not comply with the requests, Security Moderators will take the appropriate course of action suitable to the crimes you have committed.

This does not apply to screen captures from the actual show itself.

There is a word we should all know: Respect. You give respect and you earn respect, and there is no simpler code to know than this.

In no way, shape, or form will you attack or flame someone for who they are or what they believe in. You may not verbally abuse them for anything that they may have said or done. If their actions are breaking other rules or are questionable, please inform a mod. It is a known fact that backseat moderating, and flaming totally grinds Luckeh's gears - contact her or one of the security mods if something is bothering you and they will investigate and handle the situation. Don't try to be a hero.

First and foremost, all SPAM threads must be posted in The Three Ring Circus, and will not be tolerated elsewhere.

If any threads posted in Chat begin to take a nonsensical turn, a Security Moderator will relocate them to the spam section.


So now that that's out of the way... We can explain what SPAM is...

Put simply, SPAM is any topic that has no "real value." Random thoughts, silly conversations, funny Youtube finds, emoticon wars, etc, all count as SPAM. SPAM can also include personal reference lists that have nowhere else to go, such as character and thread listings.

So what constitutes as SPAM and what doesn't? In general, posting your opinion on a topic and then asking how other members feel, serious discussions, and debates belong in the Chat board. Nonsensical discussions or debates (like which sock is better... hanes or goldtoe) should be posted in the Three Ring Circus.

For example;
This exchange counts as chat.

Person A: "In my literature class we're reading the works of William Shakespeare; right now we're in the middle of Hamlet. I think that Laertes is the perfect foil to the vengeful but philosophical and slow to action title character."

Person B: "I agree. Laertes is quick to seek revenge and doesn't wax philosophical like Hamlet does."

This exchange belongs in the spam section.

Person A: I hate Hamlet, I bet he would have listened to My Chemical Romance and written with gel pens.
Person B: Hamlet:*dewdls with gel pen*
Person A: LOL.
Person B: *pokes* HAY
Person A: *bludgeons*HAY

As you can see... we're pretty anal about this. (It's because it gets ridiculous ;) )


For you convenience, however, the Three Ring Circus (harbor of SPAM) is broken down into four sub-sections;

• The Board Game Barrister
  
  This section is for contests or game-based spam threads. Posts can be either OOC (as seen here.), in character (here for example), or most commonly a mix of both.
  Remember, none of these posts are taken seriously or relevant to actual roleplay unless the players wish it so. So have fun!
  
  
• Photo Share.
  
  Like the name suggests, this section is for posting photos of just about anything - you, your pets, that weird hairdo your name is so worked up over- whatever you want. However, when posting, please try not to post anything inappropriate or sexual (especially not without a warning.)
  
  
• Cloud 9
  
  Cloud Nine is the section to hit if you're feeling down or need to vent. Before jumping right in and complaining about your math homework, be sure to read up on How to Angst the Right Way.
  
  
• Plug It In
  
  This is the place for advertising or showing off other websites. Need to bring in more customers to an online store? Want more traffic on your LJ? Hope to find members for another forum?
  As long as the websites you're advertising are legal, this is the place to go! (R rated sites are acceptable, as long as you include a warning in your topic line)
  
  
• Any posts that do not fall into the above categories can be posted in the headerless section below them.

Please Keep in Mind...

While, this is a spam board, please keep your spam to a minimal amount of intelligence. This means, there shouldn’t be any threads where half the posts are just ‘akjghsadgdjf’ or gibberish like that. Please remember that this is put here so that you can be silly but don’t’ go overboard and waste space with things that aren’t even words.

Of course, everyone is expected to exercise common courtesy and respect throughout the entire forum, the Three Ring Circus included. Flaming, bashing, or otherwise disrespecting players is unacceptable. Also, cursing should be done in moderation.
